When we started finding artisan works and skilled craftsman throughout Thailand according to hearsay, we searched for persons who specialized in many craft skills and technics. We unexpectedly discovered a cozy community in Chantaburi with its outstanding woven mats. And we also found out that the area is sandy and surrounded by brackish water. This local geography makes sedge and jute are extremely strong, durable, and not get moldy easily. Because of these unique features, we decided to work with the community and let them become a part of ‘Maison Craft’.
